"If This Isn't Nice, What Is?"5/18/2014 As I was preparing for graduation last weekend, I did some reading and came across a passage I had never read or seen before. The following passage comes from a graduation speech that acclaimed writer Kurt Vonnegut gave to Agnes Scott College on May 15, 1999. As we close out another school year, take time this summer to enjoy life. Spend time with friends and family. Take a trip or two or just relax on your deck. Enjoy your own children's laughter or your golf partners birdie to win the match. Whatever you choose to do this summer, take time for yourself! As educators, we do our students a huge injustice if we ourselves aren't excited to be here. All of us got into this profession because we love children and teaching them. Use this summer to recharge the batteries and enjoy the small things in life we may have not noticed, because "If this (summer break) isn't nice, what is?" #milfordsoar
